Graduation and moving on
It’s that time of year again…People are graduating from College and High School and deciding what to do next. I went to ASU right after High School and two short years later decided to pack up and move out to Cali. Little did I know that an opportunity to start a business was just 7 months away…it’s funny how we make these vast plans and our ‘real’ lives tend to take us in a completely different direction. I never dreamed of being part of a skateboard company but, one thing’s for sure now: I eat, sleep, and breathe it 24/7 and have done so for the past 9 years. What a challenge. Hands down the biggest challenge I’ve encountered so far in life. To A) work with a spouse, B) work with a father and C) battle the constant fires day in and out without some sort of ‘Build a Successful Business for Dummies’ book that actually relates to your business is trying at best. Yeah, there is the fact that we (Paul) has years and years of experience surfing and skating and the fact that we can take seminars and classes to expand our ‘business’ knowledge base but, that doesn’t cut it. To make people believe in you and trust that you are in it for the right reasons is a completely different animal…tbc
